Setting up your menu

Documentation · 6 min read

Your guest menu reads from the same data you edit in admin: categories define sections, items carry price and visibility, and optional modifier groups control add-ons (required choices, min/max selections, and price deltas per option).

Categories

Each category appears as a section on the public menu. Reorder categories from Categories so the flow matches how you want guests to browse (for example: starters → mains → desserts).

Items

In Menu items, set name, description, base price, diet flags, spice level, allergens, and photos. Items can belong to one category; move them if you reshape your menu.

Modifiers

Modifier groups attach to items in the item editor. Typical patterns: choose a protein, add toppings with optional extra charges, or enforce exactly one size. Cart merges identical lines (same item and option set) and preserves the exact modifier delta so checkout totals stay consistent.

Selection rules

  • Required single — guest must pick one option from the group.
  • Optional multi — guest can pick zero or more up to the configured maximum.
  • Price deltas on options add to the line subtotal before tax.
